Milking in progress at the Keiyian dairy parlour, Sahiwal and Holstein Friesian herds

Dairy Farming

Two pedigree herds, side by side

Keiyian milks two pedigree herds: the hardy Sahiwal, milked in the traditional suckling system, and the high-yielding Holstein Friesian. Together they deliver approximately 900 litres of fresh milk every day — collected, cooled and processed on-farm. Our cattle graze rotationally managed pastures and improved forages, because good milk begins with good grass.

  • The Sahiwal herd — hardy, dual-purpose, our signature
  • The Holstein Friesian herd — high-yield pedigree dairy
  • Rotational grazing on improved pastures
  • Milk collection for members

Sugarcane, tea and maize fields on Keiyian's 700-acre cropland, Narok County

Crops & Hay

700 acres of flagship crops and forage

Approximately 700 acres carry the flagship crops — sugarcane, tea and maize — alongside a growing acreage of improved forages and Rhodes grass for hay. Transmara’s semi-humid climate, with over 1,400 mm of annual rainfall on deep, well-drained soils, makes this some of the most productive farmland in Narok County.

  • Rhodes grass hay — commercial production scaling
  • Maize silage made to exacting standards
  • Sugarcane, tea and maize on fertile plateau soils
